The Flathead Valley is the perfect panoramic picture. To the north is the breath taking Glacier National Park, so close you could go up for just an afternoon. Hiking, swimming, canoeing, and nature watching are just a few of the enjoyed activities. The Big Mountain ski resort offers all winter sports, wither it's skiing or snowboarding, snowmobiling or tubing they have it all.
Located to the east is the backcountry of the Bob Marshall Wilderness. Experience America's "crown jewel" of wildernesses with over a millions acres for all your outdoor activities, the east also includes the majestic Swan and Mission Mountain Ranges.
To the south is Flathead Lake. This is the largest freshwater lake west of the Mississippi. It is also one of the 300 major lakes in the world measuring in at 28 ½ miles long, 18 miles wide and 385 ft deep. West of the lake is Blacktail Mountain ski area, our newest ski area located on public land.
West bound are Ashley, Bitterroot, McGregor, and Thompson Lake. These are a few of our numerous mountain lakes, many of which are located minutes apart from each other. The Flathead Valley is incomparable to anywhere else you have ever been. Don't just dream, come and live Montana for yourself!
